It Promote the concept of organic farming for sustainable agriculture.Establish a large-scale unit for the in-house production of biofertilizers and biopesticides.Provision of bioinoculants to farmers.Conduct research on the use of biofertilizers and biopesticides through field trials.Establish practices for agriwaste composting.

VSBT Nakshtra Garden 15 Bee colonies of Apismellifera and 2 colonies of Apiscerana in the field of Sunflower with surrounding Amla ,Neem ,Karanj ,Tamarind etc.
Chinkara Forest 8 Bee colonies of Apismellifera and 5coloniesofApiscerana in the field of Ber, Bel, Shishm, Pheltophoram and other wild flora `with surrounding Amla, Neem, Karanj, Tamarind etc.
Karhati 10 Bee colonies of Apismellifera and 2 colonies of Apiscerana in the field of Sunflower with surrounding maize, Bajari, Tur.
Jalochi 23 bee colonies of Apismellifera the field of Grapes with surrounding Eucalyptus
Malwadi 5 bee colonies of Apismellifera the field of Bajari with surrounding Maize. Etc.

VSBT has been implementing beekeeping programme since 6-7 years, with its all modern infrastructures and advanced facilities to support beekeeping development in Maharashtra. Initially started with 50 bee colonies and established apiaries at VSBT experimental field, Nakshatra Garden and Chinkara forest.

It is difficult to segregate rural aquaculture from entrepreneurial aquaculture, which normally concerns with the intensive cultivation. In fact, many farmers who have been involved in subsistence level production increased their production over the years, with more inputs and better management skill, resulting in enlarging their resource base and gradually becoming entrepreneurial.

Virus evolution, surveillance and virus- host interaction will be the prime area of interest along with anti-viral and vaccine development. The laboratory will also be used for the academic, training and diagnostic purpose also.

Plant tissue culture & Micro propagation

Objectives:
  • Initiation and establishment of runner tip cultures.
  • In vitro shoot regeneration through direct and indirect organogenesis
  • Multiplication of shoots regenerated during the earlier objectives.
  • Rooting of shoot produced during multiplication stage.
  • Hardening and acclimatization of in vitro produced plantlets.
  • Virus indexing of strawberry plantlets for Strawberry Mottle Virus to ensure supply of disease free planting material.
